There are many ways to use tires in the garden at any time of the year.
These handy tools make it easy to carry large and heavy loads and help you quickly complete many outdoor tasks. It's invaluable if you're planning a big cleanup that involves removing and disposing of yard debris. But this is not all. From clearing gravel to moving plants, a wheelbarrow is a reliable tool you can rely on.
If you don't already own one of the best wheelchairs, it's worth the investment. If you're still not sure, this guide might change your mind.
6 beautiful uses for tires
Use your car in these parks.
1. Clean garden leaves for dressing
As the cold months begin, many trees begin to lose their leaves, and removal becomes an urgent matter.
Amy Stubbs of British Garden Centers says a wheelbarrow is ideal for picking up all those leaves and moving them where you need them, perhaps around your plants or vegetables to protect them from the cold.
You can use the excess leaves for future gardening efforts around your property. Once you learn how to make leaves, you'll look forward to fall every year.
2. Transporting, lifting and dividing plants
Many plants need to be grown and stored over the winter. Amy Stubbs tells me. “The machine is ideal for lifting and moving dahlias, cannas, gladiolus and begonia bulbs after the first frost, as well as dividing overgrown plants including houseplants and daylilies.
Also, use your wheelbarrow to move tender and delicate plants into the greenhouse. Nick Hamilton of Barnsdale Gardens recommends always checking for pests such as spider mites or aphids before bringing them inside.
3. Gravel and landscaping stone cleaning
The task of cleaning landscape stone, gravel and decorative gravel can be tedious and time-consuming, but also very difficult. Fortunately, using a wheelbarrow makes this much easier, and your paths and other rock garden features will look brand new.
All you have to do is pick up the gravel with a bag or shovel and place it in a tire with plenty of fresh water. After washing them well, pour the dirty water and put the pebbles back in the original place.
You can use a wheel covered with canvas and small stones with white solution to clean the gravel.
4. Move tools around the yard
When it's time to clean out the shed or garage, a tire can be invaluable. It makes it easy to carry the best garden shovels, garden tools and other frequently used garden tools.
Amy Stubbs suggests an outdoor area where you wash and oil your car gear to keep rust at bay.
5. Collect rainwater
Winter usually means the start of the rainy season, and a wheelbarrow is a great way to collect rainwater and use it as an alternative to a water drum.
Simply rotate the overflow to the wheel bar to collect gallons, Amy says. This can then be stored for the dry season to water the plants.
6. Restart the flower box
If your old tire has rust, spots and holes, don't throw it away just yet. you can still use it as a temporary installation.
An old bicycle makes a great cycling project and decorative container for the garden or patio, says Amy. "Be sure to make some holes in the bottom of the car to let the plants dry out." Then all you have to do is fill your new plant with the compost and plants of your choice. Give it a color that matches the look for an extra dose of personality.
In addition to bright flowers, why not use wheelbarrow planting for herbs or gardens?
