But that was just the start for the company, which owns a garden center that sells a variety of gardening products, from mature shrubs, perennials and garden beds to containers, planters and gifts. Another aspect of the company is a collection of ten luxury pavilions with private bathrooms that can accommodate up to eight people and feature modern furniture and beautiful decor, including large living and dining areas and two to three truly impressive bedrooms. Orders start in April.
The duo behind the company are Rob and Katherine Durber. Mr. Durber bought the site four years ago, primarily with a residential business in mind. Once there is a working cafe and an abandoned greenhouse. But things quickly picked up, and Mrs. Durber used her passion for gardening to create an unusual garden center that covered most of the country. They have taken over the management of the café and are hard at work developing the hotel. In the future, it is planned to expand the cafe and create a farm shop.
Mr Durber said: “The cafe was here when we arrived and there were old dilapidated greenhouses. Although the hut was an original business idea, it fit the big picture. Coming here was a bit of a chore and we had to do it. It's a way to get people to try and come up with something, I never thought it would end up like this when we started.
“My wife, Katherine, is passionate about plants and thought this was an interesting opportunity and we had the space. She took an active part in its development. We have also started a holiday accommodation business which is still ongoing but will be available for bookings in April."
Despite its remote location, the parking lot is often filled with cars and cyclists stopping along the way to warm up and eat cake! In the cafe or on the terrace, you can see one or the other walking among the many interesting plants and objects in the center of the garden, while the children have fun on the playground equipment on the territory. You may be surprised at how many people know about wildflowers, but good news seems to travel fast.
“The whole business has grown a lot, and we didn’t promote it much. It spreads mainly by word of mouth. We have a brilliant team and everyone is passionate and enthusiastic. We have ten people working and we hope to hire more. We recently applied for a permit to expand the cafe and build a farm shop where we will sell local produce and garden supplies,” said Mr. Durber.
“It's great to see this business growing. We always strive to move forward, maintain it or improve it. We are always looking for small additions that make a difference to the business. This is great, many people are surprised to find this. What we and our staff here at Google and TripAdvisor We have great reviews that show how well it works, everyone is fed.
“It's a nice environment and we sell quality food. We use local suppliers and local products - very little from outside sources. It's always nice when someone sees it for the first time. It would be nice to be able to see it. I need the eyes of someone I've never seen.
