Fire Rips Through Miami Gardens Home, Owner Thinks It Was Intentionally Set

Miami . The owner of a Miami Gardens home that burned overnight thinks she knows who lit it.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. when crews arrived at the single-family home at 2442 NW 170th Street, they found it on fire, according to the Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department.

Firefighters searched the house, but found no one inside.

Queen McCoy, the owner of the house, said she was left behind by her grandmother when she died two years ago. He said it was rented out to tenants who lived there for about a year.

McCoy said she was upset and saddened because she grew up in this house and someone did it on purpose.

“I see someone leaving, so I'm disappointed, I think they have a problem, maybe with drugs. Yes, I know exactly who did it. It would have been revenge, I don't think they survived here, they could have been alive " Quinn McCoy life, but I have an idea where the people who did this are."

CCTV footage shows the man jumping and kicking his bike as he runs across the driveway. Moments later, the house caught fire.

Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished it. No further losses were reported.

The front of the house was burnt along with the window and part of the plaster.

"It's really unpleasant. I really wanted to cry, but you know, I'm out of control, so I try not to worry about things I can't control. I try to move on," McCoy said. .

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
