North Fulton Growers (NFMG) help local residents learn gardening techniques before the growing season.
The Gardening Club, in partnership with the University of Georgia (UGA) Extension, offers a five-part virtual learning series on gardening.
Starting March 5, NFMG volunteers will be conducting free virtual gardening education sessions. All volunteers are trained and certified by the UGA Cooperative Extension.
The 2023 NFMG Horticulture Lecture Series consists of the following five sessions:
Walk in the forest with spring wildflowers
On March 5 at 2:00 pm North Fulton Head Gardeners Carol McMullan and Judy Peacock will present a variety of spring wildflowers. This session will include tips on when to bloom the most, growing requirements, and local spots to see wildflowers.
An Introduction to Fig Cultivation in the Southeast
On March 12 at 2:00 pm North Fulton Head Gardener Jan Mathis will present the basics of figs. More than 100 varieties of fig trees grow in Mates' home garden. This session will provide information on origins, propagation, growing tips and varieties common in the south.
Insect allies: predators and parasites in the garden
Fulton County Development Agent and entomologist Gabriel Latora will discuss common garden insect predators and simple ways to protect them on March 19 at 2:00 pm.

Annuals and perennials for the water garden
April 2 at 2:00 pm North Fulton Head Gardener Robin Pollack discusses the best annuals and perennials for a water garden.
