The father was allegedly stabbed to death in his garden by teenagers looking for someone else after an argument.
Nathaniel Wardle had just returned home to Wallsend from shopping and sweets when Mohammed Rabani reportedly stabbed him in the heart and the 17-year-old in the stomach. The couple is on trial along with another 17-year-old accused of murder, which everyone denies.
Newcastle Crown Court jurors learned that Mr Wardle left his home shortly after 2pm on 20 June this year to go to a local shop. He returned home about 15 minutes later and was allegedly attacked.
Prosecutor Sharon Beatty KC said, "Within seconds, Nathaniel Wardle was attacked unprovoked and fatally wounded in his backyard and was likely dead within seconds," reports Chronicle Live.
"He received two stab wounds, once in the heart from Mohammed Rabani and once in the stomach, in the arm, from (the first 17-year-old). Both were armed with knives. The two returned home with (the second young man), armed with an ax looking (someone else) trying to control what they called a reformer.
“When Nathaniel Wardle returned home unarmed, they turned their attention to him. The attack lasted a few seconds, but the wounds they inflicted, especially the wound to the heart, proved to be fatal. scene in an attempt to revive the unconscious Mr. Wardle, but nothing could be done.

Prosecutors say the defendant was looking for someone on social media after a possible fight. Beatty said: “(The second young defendant) said during police questioning that there were disagreements and threats on social media, but there was no meeting place amid the controversy.
“What is clear is that they were not looking for Nathaniel Wardle. It is also clear that, arming and marching together, they were not looking for a fair fight one on one, nor a fair fight. was the end."
The court learned that Rabani was a student at the time, but on June 20 he went to lunch. That day, a woman was sitting outside Mr. Wardle's house with her child when she saw the three defendants walk past one of them, smiling at the child.
He noticed that one of them had his phone turned off and he heard someone say, “I'm coming, come to your door. Ms. Beatty said that she then heard one of them say, "Do you want to check me in there?"

Ms Beatty said: “She heard noise or fighting and screaming.
“She immediately regretted that she was walking down the street with a child, did not go further and took refuge with a neighbor.
"Rabani screamed, 'Damn, I did it, I did it.' It so happened that Mr. Wardle was stabbed."
Rabani, 19, from Heaton, Newcastle, and two 17-year-olds deny the murder. Rabani and the first youth confessed that they had a knife that day, while the second youth denied that he had an axe.
