Front Fargo DIY Garage has moved to a new location near the Red River in Moorhead.
Owner and military veteran Chris Partridge reopened his business on Friday, Nov. 11, at 2320 2nd Ave N. in Moorhead. Fargo DIY Garage Mr. the mechanic
Partridge's opened for business in June 2020 at 901 Westrack Drive in Fargo. He worked there for about two years before closing the shop temporarily in April this year.
Since then, Partridge has been looking for a place where the numbers match, and now he thinks he's found it. Much better now that he is paired with an experienced business partner. "It was very fortunate for both of us," he said.
The new location not only ends Partridge's job, but also solves two major problems he faced at the previous store.
First, Partridge sought to connect literally and figuratively with other mechanics. This gives customers peace of mind that if DIY repairs don't go according to plan, they won't need a tow truck for professional help. "It solidifies the whole thing," Partridge says, because people don't have to wonder what will happen if their project fails. "These concerns have largely been mitigated."
This is a scenario that rarely happened in the past, but it is an added advantage. Partridge did his part to keep the fat man from skiing too far during recovery, warning people when to trust a pro. "I want everyone to succeed in DIY," he said. "I really try to make every relationship successful from start to finish."
Another highlight of the new Fargo DIY garage is that Partridge offers a tire changer. Because tire changers can be dangerous, Partridge doesn't allow hobbyists to use them, although it does offer $40 tire changers for repair shop rentals.
Beyond these two upgrades, Fargo DIY Garage is just as easy as when you first open it, and Partridge offers the same specialized tools and computer software you need for almost any project. "You can fix your car, do whatever you need, pretty much, I've got everything for it," he said.
Promise Fargo DIY Garage is open Thursday through Sunday. Partridge has three slots available on Thursdays and Fridays, one on the ground and two in the lift. At the weekend, mr. The mechanism closes, expanding the available space to six bays and adding three more to the elevator.
Dirt tool box rental $25 per hour. When the customer brings the equipment, the same rate will be applicable for the lift box. Fully furnished elevators are available for $40 per hour. Additionally, Partridge offers discounted portions.
Overall, Partridge estimates that doing the repair yourself can save 25% to 50% on project costs.
As for the company name, Partridge plans to stick with the Fargo DIY Garage name, which he says has become a buzz now that it's in Moorhead.
Nearly seven months after closing, Partridge is thrilled to be back in business. He "had a lot of fun" meeting people along the way, and he wanted to help people fix their car problems. "I'm very excited to be back there. I enjoy it a lot. I enjoy the conversation, the people, the company, the work," he said. "I like to make things."
