Whether you're a new home owner looking to renovate or an interested buyer, next weekend's Green Country Home and Garden Show has something for you.
The free event, sponsored by Barnett Home Improvement, Generator Supercenter of Tulsa and Rickert Landscaping & Tree Service, will be held Jan. 27, 28 and 29 at the Exchange Center at Expo Square.

This year, the Green Country Home and Garden Show celebrates its 20th anniversary.
According to Libby Kaczmarek, head of publicity and activism for Cox Media Group, the organizer of the event, the event is ideal for people of all ages because of the wide range of vendors on display.

"We have landscape and home improvement companies, wineries, chiropractors and even self-defense instructors setting up booths at the show," Kaczmarek said. "There's something for everyone."
This year, according to Kaczmarek, event organizers expect up to 20,000 guests to attend the Green Country Home and Garden Show. He said there are many reasons why the show has become so popular over the years.
"The great thing about the January show is that a lot of people use it as an opportunity to see new trends," Kaczmarek said. "This is where many suppliers post their latest and greatest, giving customers a chance to see what's happening in the process."
Customers appreciate the opportunity to meet home goods sellers in person, Kaczmerak said.
"If you want to build a pool, we have a few different pool suppliers, so it's a good opportunity to talk to everyone at once," Kaczmerak said. "You can compare apples to apples and see if the supplier is right for your project."
While some Green Country Home and Garden Show vendors represent national chains, many represent local businesses, making the show an opportunity to support the local economy.
"Some of these are businesses owned by people in our community," Kaczmerak said. "Supporting local businesses is very important to us."
Local vendors who will have booths at the Green Country Home & Garden Show spoke with Tulsa World about their businesses and what they expect from the show.

Aaron Moody founded Moody Custom Homes just a few years ago, but has been in the building industry for over twenty years. He and his father own a business specializing in the construction and renovation of private homes.
"We build all types and sizes of custom homes, from a 1,000-square-foot home to a large $2 million custom home, and we've done them all," Moody said. "Custom doesn't have to be big or fancy, it has to be whatever you want it to be."
Moody Custom Homes serves clients in the Tulsa area and beyond. When it comes to building a home, Moody said he enjoys breaking ground and envisioning what the project will look like once it's complete.
"My dad and I like to start every project: structural design, tiling, framing," Moody said. “We can close our eyes and look straight at the ground and imagine what a house would look like, but most homeowners can't. It's amazing to see the joy and wonder on their faces when they start seeing their home together."
According to Moody, what sets Moody Custom Homes apart from other developers is its commitment to always putting the homeowner first. Their pricing system is open and transparent, and they host a weekly radio show where they share tips and advice on how to save money when remodeling and building a home.
"We like to give advice on all things construction and remodeling and share things that can be useful to the community that people wouldn't normally get without paying someone," Moody said.
Moody and his team have been visiting the Green Country Home and Garden Show for many years. Moody's said they look forward to connecting with customers and learning about the latest home building technology on display at the show.
"We're excited to meet with potential new home builders and remodelers, answer their questions and give them as much information as possible," Moody said.
Snacks on the sixth day
Sixth Day Snacks is a family business in Broken Arrow that specializes in healthy snacks like homemade restaurant-style salsa, marinated and candied jalapeƱo slices, hummus and black bean pie and granola bars.
Owned by Craig and Don Chesser, the business started in 2018 out of necessity. For the past five years, Dawn Chaser has been treated for thyroid cancer, resulting in huge medical bills. The Chessmans decided to launch Sixth Day Snacks for additional income and took to social media to share their mission with the community.
"I shared our story on Facebook and the community came together and was so supportive that we were able to pay off our medical bills fairly quickly," Don Chesser said. "We decided to take a leap of faith and make it a full-time job."
Chess players were given space in the kitchen of 66 Main Road Market, which allowed them to share their food with a wider audience and start their professional business. They eventually moved into their own building in Broken Arrow, which they shared with other local businesses who could also operate there.
As the company continued to grow, the entire Chaser family joined. Craig Chaser quit his job at the company to dedicate himself to Sixth Day Snacks, as his mother, Dawn Chaser, and their children also devote a lot of time to helping out in the family business.
"It's been a wonderful journey as a couple and with our families," said Don Chesser. "It gave us a lot of time together, which it took away from me when I had to go through surgery, treatment and radiation therapy."
Sixth Day Snacks continues to grow organically and is now available in stores like Razor's, Doc's Country Mart and Akin's Natural Foods Market in Oklahoma. Their products are also sold in California, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Tennessee.
The players said they appreciated the support they received from the Tulsa community.
"Tulsa is great at supporting local businesses, and we are no exception," said Craig Chesser. “After Covid, I think it has become more important for people to know where their food comes from and where they shop. That's why companies like ours are so grateful that people choose us.
The Sixth Day Snacks Booth at the Green Country Home and Garden Show offers a variety of food samples.
"People can come in and try some of our popular products and some of our new flavors," said Craig Chesser. "We're excited to chat with some of our longtime fans and meet some of our new fans."
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Cox Radio Tulsa has partnered with Mazzio's Pizza to sponsor a $20,000 raffle. Participants over the age of 18 will have the opportunity to match a six-number winning combination at checkout with a cash prize.
