The business has been around for over 25 years, started as a garden center on a former dairy farm, and has grown rapidly ever since. Today, more than 50 people work in the region.
This historic farm has been in the Price family for 100 years and is now run by brothers Robert and David Price. Originally a dairy farm, they decided to turn it into a garden center 25 years ago, starting with "a few multi-tunnels" on their land.
A small tea room followed five years later, before a purpose-built extension was added to the site a decade earlier to house a fully equipped farm shop and a large tea room with an outdoor terrace. The aim was to find a place to showcase domestic lamb as well as local pork from the nearby village of Chisworth.
Robert and David say Limefield is the heart of the local community, supporting projects and charities, as well as being used as a hub where locals meet for coffee and where people from across the region come for the day. .
Products sold at the Teahouse and Farm Store are sourced locally as they believe they can support other small businesses in the area.
