Rachael Ray Is Ready 'to Move On' From Daytime TV And Already Cooking Up New Ventures

Rachael Ray is ending her more than a decade-long talk show, but the topic of food will always be meat and potatoes.

CBS announced Friday that the "30 Minutes Eating" star is ending her eponymous talk show after its 17th season.

"Of more than 20 years on television, I've spent an incredible 17 seasons on daytime TV's 'Rachel,'" he said. "However, I decided it was time to move on to the next exciting chapter of my broadcasting career."

Roy's announcement comes hours after Deadline announced Friday that the Food Network personality will be starting a production company, Free Food Studios.

According to their website, Free Food Studios will focus on "original content in the food space." In Friday's announcement, Ray said his "passions are evolving" on a platform he says is "unencumbered by traditional distribution rules."

Roy said he wanted to "develop new talent from the tasters of the future".

Cooking Guru's daytime show premiered on September 18, 2006. In its 17 years on the air, "Rachel Ray" has received over 30 Daytime Emmy nominations and won Outstanding Talk Show three times.

CBS has yet to announce when Ray's final episode will air, but the longtime TV host has given fans something to look forward to.

"We have more new shows and more laughs this year," he captioned one of his Instagram photos on Tuesday. The photo showed Ray kissing her husband, singer John Cusimano.

"I have spent over 25 amazing years in daytime television," McGrath, 72, said in a statement. “Through this show, we've helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers with everything from addiction and marriage to mental health and parenting. It's been an amazing chapter in my life and career, but since I've put this day behind me, I want to do even more.
